Dear Friend,

Greenhouse gas emissions are still climbing. So am I.

Today I climb the Cheung Kong Center, a skyscraper in Hong Kong, 62 storeys tall, 283 meters high.

I climb for our climate, to help keep the urgent, real and present danger of global warming in our minds.

I am hanging a banner with the words OneHundredMonths.org
We have less than 100 months until our climate reaches the tipping point, the point of no return. This is the urgency of our cause.

Global warming already kills more people than a 9/11 every week.

Countries all over the world are already suffering from the devastating effects of global warming. Even the incredibly brave Australian fire-fighters are now calling for their government to act far more urgently to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save lives. The Australian Prime Minister – Kevin Rudd – called the fires ‘mass murder’. The failure of world leaders to tackle global warming is genocide.
At the end of this year world leaders meet in Copenhagen and must agree to at least a 50% global emissions reduction target.

America, under the the presidency of Barack Obama, is now set to lead the world. George Bush wouldn’t agree to a 5% emmissions reductions goal. Barack Obama is personally committed to an 80% goal. That is real leadership.
Millions of people are already playing a part to reduce their personal emissions, but we cannot succeed without urgent and significant action by world leaders.
Let’s remember, the solution is simple:

• Stop cutting down trees. Plant more trees.
• Make everything energy efficient.
• Only make clean energy.
